50 ms is equal to a whole cycle (360b0 phase shift) at 20 Hz. it will cause problems with clatealncions at low frequencies.Anyway time-shifting with small delays (up to about 1 ms) is nice for example left channel is delayed it will sound like the sound is to the right. Combined with some amount of ordinary left and right panning it's awesome. Also that sounds much more realistic when listening thru headphones than just panning.
